booking visuals or an installation
tell us the venue, the date, the room and the technical situation. installation and vj work is quoted per project rather than per hour, and for anything with a rig we want to see the space before we promise a thing.
the arnhem side of the studio is merel: visuals, motion, installation, workshops. the alkmaar side is jaym: sound, and undisclosed at hal25. a project can use one of us or both.
an evening in a room and a brand for a company are not the same work, so we do not price them the same way. either way you know the number before anything starts.
what we make
live visuals and vj sets. installation on location. motion design. workshops on location. and alongside that, brand identity, websites, logo and wordmark, graphic design, print and sound design.
the motion work usually runs together with the visuals here: the same image that plays on the screen comes back on the flyer and in the socials. that saves you a second designer.

jaym · rrrrip9 · sound and design, based in alkmaar. sound design, music, brand and web. runs undisclosed at hal25 in alkmaar.
two people, and there is nobody in between you and the work. est. mmxxvi, though the work behind it is older than that.
if you are not in the netherlands
we work in english as a matter of course. briefs, meetings, files and invoices in english if that is easier. prices are in euro, excluding dutch vat. if you are a business outside the netherlands with a valid eu vat number, we can usually invoice without vat.
where
arnhem. by appointment. it is a working space and not a shop, so mail first and we will find an hour. if it is easier, we come to you.
we work across arnhem, and world wild west i–iii ran in arnhem, utrecht and nijmegen. the second workspace is in alkmaar.

can i just walk in?
by appointment, yes. arnhem is a working address and not a shop, so mail us when you would like to come by. you get a reply within two working days and we plan it together, at our place or at yours.

mail us with the venue, the date, the room and the technical setup. installation and vj work is quoted per project, not per hour.

do you teach workshops outside artez?
yes. vr facefilters, 3d avatars, cyber jewelry and creative coding, on location, for schools, festivals and companies. group size and length are up to you.

do you work in english?
yes. merel and jaym both work in english. dutch is fine too.

what does a brand identity cost?
from €950, usually €1,500 to €3,000 ex vat. a website starts at €1,200 and usually lands between €2,000 and €5,000 ex vat. you get a fixed price before we start.

how far do you travel?
arnhem is where merel is based, alkmaar is where jaym is. world wild west ran in arnhem, utrecht and nijmegen, and we travel further when the project asks for it.
