• who we are

  s3x is a two-person design studio in alkmaar and arnhem, a trade name under a dutch eenmanszaak · kvk 87695871 · btw NL004464827B44. write to [email protected] and a person answers.

• what collects anything?

  three things. the contact form when you send it. the server log our host writes, which records your ip address so the site can be served and abuse stopped, and which we neither read nor keep ourselves. and visitor statistics, only if you say yes. the films on the cyberbirdxx page load nothing until you press play. every other page loads nothing from anyone.

• what happens when you fill in the contact form?

  a name, an email address, a message and a project type. only those, and only because you asked us to answer, which is the basis we rely on. leave them out and we cannot reply, which is the only consequence. it goes through formspree and cloudflare email routing into our mailbox at google. we keep it while we are talking, and if it becomes an invoice the bookkeeping is kept seven years, which dutch tax law requires. a hidden field you never see catches bots.

• do you count visitors?

  only if you have said yes. we ask with the bar at the bottom of this page, and until you answer it stays off. it is google analytics 4, off until you press yes, and the tag is not loaded before that. yes writes two cookies, _ga and _ga_ plus this site’s stream id, holding a random number that tells one visit from another. they last two years; google deletes the event data after fourteen months. counted are the pages you read, a form that actually sent, and a tap on a mail or phone link. your name and your message never go to google, there are no advertising cookies, nothing follows you across other sites, and no profile is built about you.

• what about the films on the cyberbirdxx page?

  they sit on youtube, but nothing is fetched until you press play. you see a picture we host ourselves. press play and youtube receives your ip address, your browser and the page you are on, and can store an id in your browser. until then it hears nothing.

• what is kept in your browser?

  s3x-consent, your answer about statistics and its date, so we can ask again after six months. s3x-sound, whether the ambient sound is on. neither is a cookie and neither leaves your device. plus the two _ga cookies above, only if you accepted.

• who else sees any of it?

  formspree (united states) relays the form. cloudflare hosts the site and forwards the mail. google holds the mailbox and the statistics. our bookkeeper sees invoices. nobody else, and none of it is sold. for transfers outside the eu, google llc is certified under the eu-us data privacy framework and carries the commission’s standard contractual clauses.

• what can you ask us to do?

  see what we hold, correct it, delete it, get a copy in a portable file, object, or have it limited while something is being checked. mail us and we answer within a month, free. we may ask you to prove who you are first.

• what if you think we are getting it wrong?

  tell us and we will fix it. you can also complain to the autoriteit persoonsgegevens directly, at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

• how do you change your mind?

  the cookies link at the bottom of every page reopens the choice. switch it off and we set analytics back to denied and delete the _ga cookies for you, because switching off does not remove them on its own. what was already counted stays counted.
